• Focus on development organization quality scientific materials
• Effectively teach astronomy and physics to orgaznization staff
• Conduct scientific research as required
• Evaluate and select knowledge and skill areas to be offered to orgaznization staff
• Maintain internal academic standards
• Participate in social media community to provide open consulting as required
• Participate in professional activities that will help maintain currency in astronomy, physics, and teaching in general
• Development innovative materials relative to astrophysics
• Attend meetings, present research at national and regional conferences, and to take a lead role in the data analysis and background research required for timely publication of research results
• Planning and execution of observations, analysis of photometric and spectroscopic data, and the publication and presentation of results
Required Skills
• Degree in related discipline from an accredited educational institution
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
• Experience in teaching astronomy and/or physics at a community college level
• Experience in technology-mediated instruction and curriculum development
• Familiarity with current physics education research and alternative teaching
• Experience with design of new laboratory activities and writing laboratory manuals
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work activities, to completion, while meeting or exceeding deadlines
• Ability to work effectively inside a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Ability to effectively navigate dynamic requirements and priorities
• Strong organization skills, dependability, pro-active, self-motivated, and goal-oriented with attention to detail
