Chemical Engineering Technologist

• Collect, prepare, analyze and diagnose data and take corrective action, as required
• Handle the receipt of assignments and confer with technical staff on aspects regarding charts, data, diagrams, drawings, general arrangements, graphs, layouts, schematics, sketches, etc
• Prepare specifications, cost and material estimates, project schedules and reports
• Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections or technical investigations to provide data for projects
• Plan, coordinate and/or supervise inspection and testing of materials, equipment and systems
• Participate in research to determine efficient and effective work procedures
• Develop and design and specialized software and perform data entry, editing activities and maintenance operations to systems
• Participate in continuous educational and professional development as required
• Manage direction of Chemical research projects
Required Skills
• Degree in related discipline from an accredited educational institution
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
• Minimum of 3 years related laboratory experience preferably in an assay laboratory
• Solid technical skills and theoretical knowledge in chemistry
• Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work activities, to completion, while meeting or exceeding deadlines
• Ability to work effectively inside a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Ability to effectively navigate dynamic requirements and priorities
• Strong mathematical and statistical skills
• Strong organization skills, dependability, pro-active, self-motivated, and goal-oriented with attention to detail
